Increasingly, more people have begun working from home over the past two years. Whether that's partially or full-time, we're spending more time in our home office chairs than ever before, and in a lot of cases, they're not up to scratch.
A sub £100 seat might seem grand when it's only used on the weekend or for a brief gaming session in the evening, but for an extended period, it becomes uncomfortable and is undoubtedly doing more than harm than good.
The world's video game enthusiast population is getting older, and so gaming chairs have grown with them. No longer does every company offer a chair that looks like someone's ripped a bucket seat straight out of a car and coated it in whatever shades of neon paint they can find.
It's also incredibly comfortable, once I got used to how it forces you to sit. Historically, I have a habit of sitting in a host of weird ways that are likely ill-advised, but the BraZen Emperor made me sit correctly, and my posture is better for it.
It comes with two mould pillows that are well-placed to ensure good back support, allowing me to work or game at my desk for multiple hours without discomfort or feeling the need to shuffle into a better position. The padding in the seat's base is also excellent, preventing the dreaded numb bum that lesser chairs often provide.
The only real downside to the BraZen Emperor XXX Elite Esports PC Gaming Chair – apart from its name taking an eternity to say – is the armrests. Compared to the rest of the chair, they are seriously lacking. The material feels a little cheap and isn't comfortable either, even for a few minutes, let alone hours.
They're also supposed to be adjustable but changing the position becomes more of a battle than it should be for a relatively simple task. In truth, I would probably recommend just taking them off entirely or looking for some attachable arm pads to improve the comfort they provide.
