Zombie Kingdom: Reasons to play this colourful idle RPG

In case you missed it, developer gameberry studio recently launched Zombie Kingdom - its colourful 2D-slash-3D idle game - on both iOS and Android devices last month. Featuring charming pixel-art visuals set in a post-apocalyptic land, the game tasks players with surviving hordes of the undead against the backdrop of Korean culture.

Apart from the AFK appeal that's typical of its genre, what else can you expect from this casual RPG?

Charming 2D and 3D visuals

In Zombie Kingdom, players will take on the role of a special Detective on a quest to explore the north by order of King Sejong. Apparently, the famine in the area became so widespread that people have begun to eat human flesh. Players will have to do everything in their power to survive the bloodthirsty undead while levelling up their characters.

All these are presented across 3D backgrounds with lovely 2D sprites, adding a unique appeal to the game despite the gloom and doom of the zombie apocalypse. Character designs are adorable - even the enemies themselves have a cutesy charm that makes the title stand out.

Korean aesthetics and culture

To add to the game's unique appeal, it also boasts traditional Korean culture as part of its aesthetics. In particular, adorable pixel-art characters can be seen wandering through vibrant backgrounds reminiscent of the Joseon Dynasty.

“Zombie Kingdom is a game that everyone can easily enjoy because it can be played with simple controls. We offer a variety of costumes that reflect Korean culture, such as Hong Gil-dong, Nine-Tailed Fox, and Grim Reaper, so that you can enjoy other fun besides action,” says Seonghyeon Kim, CEO of Gameberry Studio.

Intuitive zombie-killing action

Of course, being an idle game, Zombie Kingdom offers intuitive controls and an accessible growth system, letting players level up and upgrade their characters easily to take down foes. The zombies themselves have varied appearances as well, with everything from your average undead to larger-than-life bosses.

To spice up the game's combat, players can also transform into a variety of beings such as the Hong Gil-dong, the Nine-tailed Fox, the Grim Reaper and more. If all this sounds appealing to you, you can join in on all the fun by downloading Zombie Kingdom on the iOS App Store and on the Google Play Store for Android devices. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. You can also visit the studio's official website to learn more about the game.
