Genshin Impact's Akitsu Kimodameshi event goes live tomorrow

It’s been a week since Genshin Impact’s latest update, version 3.3 – All Senses Clear, All Existence Void launched and we’re already almost through with phase one. The second and final event, Akitsu Kimodameshi, finally goes live tomorrow, December 15th.

In this event, travellers will participate in the Test of Courage that has been organized by the Yashiro Commission, where they will be tasked with completing the Akitsu Yuugei challenges to obtain rewards like Primogems, Mora, Level-Up Materials, and more. But the most prized item is the exclusive Toukabou Shigure Sword and its refinement material.

The quest is basically like the classic arcade block breaker, Arkanoid. Players will take control of a bar from which they much keep bouncing the skill ball to break as many bricks as possible. Challenges are broadly divided into two categories – Leisurely Pastime, consisting of six tasks with two difficulties, and Shatterdark, a special single-player domain, where a fight with the Boss Brick awaits.

On the board, travellers will find two kinds of bricks – Basic and Electrobrick. Based on the element of the chosen character, the bar and skill ball will match it. This combination will lead to special effects which will cause AoE damage, destroying surrounding bricks in the process.

Prior to beginning the challenge, certain modifiers can be equipped for bonuses. And when victory is in sight, the bar will begin shooting fireworks to clear out all the remaining bricks on the board. Once this is clear, players can proceed to the Shatterdark domain.

In this region, players must take on three Boss Bricks, Gibbering Grumbler, Deranged Decrepit Duelist, and Mesmeric Marine Maiden. Destroying their bricks will be more difficult because they have extra characteristics, but it should be a fun fight.
