The Battle Cats introduces a brand new addition to their Dark Heroes bundle of units, this one an electric-themed superhero named Thunder Jack

The popular oddball strategy gacha RPG The Battle Cats has revealed its latest addition to its cast of quirky characters you’re able to collect. This time around, players will be able to get their hands on the new superhero-themed unit Thunder Jack, an electric-themed hero based on old Japanese comics and popular media heroes throughout the world.

The Battle Cats is a strange game, but only in style. Conceptually, it’s a pretty easy gameplay premise to understand. You have a collection of units that you send in battle, each costing different amounts of points to summon, and then your units run forward until they collide with the enemy, where they’ll then duke it out to the death. Your goal is to make it to the other side and destroy the enemy base.

Stylistically is where things go wild. The Battle Cats has a hand-drawn aesthetic, but all of the characters seem to differ wildly in their designs. Where some of these units are a spherical cat that seems to be drawn by a third grader, others are giant anime swordsmen who look straight out of a triple-A gacha game. All of them are black and white, but beyond that, these units vary so crazily that you wouldn’t be a fool for thinking some are from different games entirely.

This theme continues with the awesome-looking Thunder Jack, a brand-new character within the Dark Heroes assortment of units. This new character wields lightning like a God to push back opponents and deal lots of huge damage. On top of this, he even has a second form titled Bloody Jack that has an entirely different skill set. If you can wield both, this is a super powerful unit.
